The Eastern Music Festival and School founded in 1961 in Greensboro, NC is a nationally renowned classical music festival and is one of the country's premier training programs for aspiring young musicians between the ages of fourteen and twenty two. It combines a five week professional concert series with an intensive training program for advanced music students. Students come from all parts of the U S and many foreign countries. Live auditions are scheduled each year throughout the US during January and February and the school receives hundreds of audition recordings. The school's piano program had seventy six applicants from which twenty one students were chosen to attend this year. Xavier Graves is looking forward to attending this incredible program. This is Mrs. Fifield's second student to attend this program. Kimberly Stewart Alvare was selected and attended the 1999 session.
