Pianist, Carol Spach Fifield, received her high school diploma with concentration in piano from the North Carolina School
of the Arts, her BM in piano performance from Converse College, Spartanburg, South Carolina, and her MM in piano performance
from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. She has also pursued doctoral studies at the University of North Carolina at
Greensboro. Her performances with orchestra and ensemble include the Spartanburg Symphony, Greensboro Philharmonic Band, and

Ms. Fifield feels that to successfully teach the piano one must always be open to new ideas, methods and approaches. Art
is not stagnant therefore the artist should always seek out opportunities for growth and improvement, which may avail themselves
in many forms. Ms. Fifield’s students have received superior ratings at the district and state levels of the North Carolina
Music Teachers Association contest festival, have performed at the international event, Focus On Piano Literature, have been
selected to perform at the William S. Newman Artists Series Masterclass, have attended the School of the Eastern Music Festival and have won such competitions as The Piano and Organ Distributors Scholarship Competition and the Gardner-Webb
Concerto Competition.
