Providing Quality Instruction for Pianists

 of All Ages and Levels

Gateway Piano Studio was opened in 1993 with the sole purpose of providing quality classical instruction for pianists of all ages and levels.

Recent Student Accomplishments:

Congratulations to Carol Fifield who has been invited to have two students perform at the 2012 Focus on Piano Literature. She is one of six teachers chosen from the state for this honor. Helen Ni and Suzanne Zhou will be performing Kitty-Valse from "Dolly" Suite, Op.56 by Gabriel Fauré on June 2, 2012.

Congratulations to Suzanne Zhou who was awarded First Place and $100.00 in the instrumental category of the 2012 Greensboro Youth Council Artistry Awards held at the Odeon Theatre, Greensboro Coliseum Complex on February 25, 2012.

Congratulations to Xavier Graves who received Honorable Mention in the Senior Division of the 2011 MTNA Piano Performance Competition which was held on October 28, 2011 at Salem College, Winston Salem, NC. This was the third consecutive year that Xavier placed in this event.

Congratulations to Kimberly Brown, Lori Brown, Maxine Dai, Sahana Giridharan, and Daniel Li who received First Class Honors on their 2011 National Music Certificate Program Practical Examinations held on June 4th and 5th in Cary, NC.

Congratulations to our 2011 NCMTA State Superiors! 
Suzanne Zhou received a Superior rating at the Senior A level.
Helen Ni received a Superior rating at the Senior B level.
Daniel Xu received a Superior rating at the Senior B level.

Congratulations to Xavier Graves who was awarded First Prize and $750.00 in the Senior Division of the
2011 East Carolina University Young Artist Competition for Pre-College Pianists. The competition was held on March 12, 2011 at the ECU Fletcher School of Music and was open to pianists ages 15-18 who were residents of North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
